Your customers now have access to myCigna.com, a portal that will allow better access and understanding of the benefits that come along with their Cigna Medicare Advantage plan.

After creating an account on myCigna.com, Medicare Advantage customers can:

  • Search for in-network hospitals, providers, pharmacies and other care sites
  • View and print extra ID cards
  • Review current coverage and costs
  • See claims summaries and explanations of benefits (EOBs)
  • Seamlessly access MDLive for virtual care

myCigna can even help your customers find the best prices on their prescriptions! myCigna is available NOW to all Medicare Advantage customers. Make sure yours know about this valuable and easy-to-use tool!

The HealthPlan Updated Med Sup Compensation for West Virginia

The HealthPlan notice from 11/16/2020: 

There is an update to THP Medicare Supplement commission/admin rates in WV.  This update is required so that we can comply with the State of West Virginia Regulatory Rule 114-24-14, which went into effect 4/1/2020.  The rule requires that carriers pay the same amounts paid in year 2 for all compensated renewal years.   Unfortunately, the legislative change was missed by THP until now.

Summary Change

Current WV Medicare Supplement

20% YEARS 1-5

4% YEARS 6-10

ADMIN :  1% YEARS 1-5, .5% YEARS 6-10

 

Updated Schedule WV Medicare Supplement

 

New/Open Enrollment: 20% YEARS 1-8

Guaranteed Issue: 10% YEARS 1-8

ADMIN:   New Open Enrollment: 1% / Guaranteed Issue: .5% YEARS 1-8.

 

There are no other changes to either Ohio or West Virginia rates.

 

This change was effective 4-1-2020.  This means that you may see back-dated commission or admin. that is owed to you on future commission statements.  This will be paid by end of year in most cases.

We apologize for this late notice.  Procedures have been put into place to ensure that we deliver any compensation changes by 9/1 each year, moving forward. We are asking that your office reach out to Tracie Soptelean, Manager Broker Relations on how you would like this information communicated to your agents.   She has the updated exhibits that you can personally send to your agents or she can send an email notification. Please let her know as soon as possible how you would like to procced.

This free service is available around the clock, 365 days a year, at 855.244.6211.

  • It is completely anonymous. Cigna does not ask for verification of military status or relationship to a veteran and does not ask for any personal identification.

  • There is a dedicated triage team that will help veterans find the right resources and services.
  • It’s not just for Medicare customers, it’s for any person who has served our country.

Retroactive Enrollment Reminders

Did You Know – CMS monitors and scrutinizes retroactive enrollments that result from broker errors during the initial enrollment application process? As such, these largely preventable, broker-related errors present compliance issues for Centene that may have downstream effects on any related broker contractual arrangements. As a best practice, please review all applications prior to submitting to ensure accuracy of the submission.

For further insight, we have identified some of the most common mistakes to watch for:

  • Incorrect effective dates selected
  • Plan name and plan number mismatches
  • Missing required information, and no responses to our requests for information
  • Incorrect plan segment (PBP) selected by agent during agent assisted web application

MMO: Unity Health Removed from Network- 1/1/21

Unity Health Removed from Network Starting Jan. 1, 2021

We were unable to reach an agreement with Unity Health Network, a multi-specialty physician group with locations in Summit, Portage, Medina, and Stark counties. As a result, all providers associated with the Unity Health Network will be removed from Medical Mutual’s commercial and Medicare Advantage networks, effective Jan. 1, 2021.

To communicate this change and provide direction for members to find new in-network providers, we will send a letter to approximately 7,800 commercial and 900 MHS members who received services from a Unity Health provider in the past year. Letters have already been mailed to affected Medicare Advantage members.

MediGold 2021 Dental Riders

Adding MediGold 2021 dental riders on electronic enrollment platforms

Attention:  The electronic enrollment tool located on Medigold.com’s broker portal allows agents to add one of the dental riders when completing an electronic enrollment form.  However, the other electronic enrollment platforms that were developed thru Connecture do not currently give agents the capability  of adding the dental riders on the 2021 enrollment forms.  Medigold is working with Connecture to have this capability added and it is estimated that feature will be available around January 1st 2021.  In the meantime, if you enroll a member that would like to have this rider added to their enrollment, have the new member contact Medigold member services at 1 (800) 240-3851 and request to have the rider added.  The new member needs to contact Medigold member services no late than December 7th 2020 in order to add the dental rider.  Please call, or email me if you have any questions.
