Insurance agents need to complete annual training and certification requirements, such as the AHIP Medicare training, to stay compliant with CMS regulations and changes in Medicare plans. AHIP Plan Year 2027 MFWA Training Opens June 22, 2026

AHIP, America’s Health Insurance Plans, provides a comprehensive Medicare and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training to keep you current and sharp in the field. You can transfer these scores to carrier-specific certifications to satisfy some of the requirements, which keeps you from doubling up on similar tests!

AHIP CERTIFICATION

NABIP 2027 Medicare, Medicare Products & FWA Certification

The purpose of the three part course is to provide a quality certification that meets CMS requirements while reducing the time commitment of veteran agents who are already well versed in the MA and Part D market. This training is at an affordable price, with an optimum number of continuing education credits awarded. NABIP’s Benefits Specialist Institute provides a comprehensive online program that gives an agent the background to make informed decisions on Medicare, including plan options, marketing, and enrollment requirements.

Aetna 2027 Certification FAQs and Updates

What are the options for 2027 certification?

There are even more certification options this year—including AHIP, Pinpoint*, NABIP*, and Aetna’s no‑cost certification option—providing greater flexibility to prepare for the year ahead. *New for 2027.

How does Aetna’s no‑cost certification work?

Aetna’s Medicare certification is free for those selling Aetna & SilverScript only. It is not transferable to other carriers. The training does not qualify for Continuing Education (CE) credits.

What must a broker do if they have completed AHIP or NABIP?

Brokers must log in to the Aetna Academy portal and transfer their external certification. Then, they can complete the required Aetna Core, SilverScript PDP, and MA/MAPD/SNP training within the portal.

Where is the certification portal?

Aetna Academy, our new certification portal, may be accessed from Producer World using single sign-on or by logging in directly to the platform at https://www.aetnaacademy.com/ui/home.

Are AHIP and NABIP accessible from the Aetna Academy portal?

Yes, information and links for these services will be available at Aetna Academy.

Is there a discounted AHIP rate for brokers certifying through Aetna?

No, there is not a discounted rate for brokers taking AHIP for 2027.

Reminder: You can take the mastery exam as many times as you would like. However, there is a 24-hour lockout between attempts to allow you time to study and revisit any of the training material.
IMPORTANT: Don’t take a short-cut. The system allows you to download your certificate without completing the Contract Recertification. This does not mean you are RTS. You must complete the Annual Contract Recertification/Acknowledgement to be Ready to Sell.
