CSM Tech Tip: Keep Devices & Software Up to Date

SECURITY HINTS & TIPS:

Keep Devices and Software Up to Date

You know that little pop-up prompting you to restart your computer for a software update? The one that only seems to come up when you’re in the middle of something important? As annoying as it may seem, this notification is actually a valuable asset to your cybersecurity. So, before you click the “Later” option, let’s take a closer look!

What is a software update?
A software update is a new and improved version of a program, application, or operating system that you are already using. The update may include new features, bug fixes, or important security patches.

Why are updates important for cybersecurity?
Do you ever wonder how secure the programs installed on your device are? Cybercriminals do. They look for cracks in the security of programs and use these vulnerabilities to gain access to your device. With this access, they could enable a keylogger to track what you type, steal confidential information, or even install ransomware to lock you out of your files and demand payment for access. Developers help prevent this by fixing vulnerabilities as soon as possible. These fixes are included in software updates. Meaning, the longer you wait to install the update, the longer your system is at risk.

How do I check for software updates?
Any device that runs software, be it a computer, tablet, or even a smart tv, can release updates. Most software will prompt you when an update is available, but it’s good practice to check periodically. Here is a general guide to checking for updates on common platforms:

Mac System Updates (for macOS Catalina)
1. Open the Apple menu and select About this Mac.
2. Click Software Updates….
3. If any are available, you will have the option to install it.

Windows System Updates (for Windows 10)
1. Open the start menu and select Settings.
2. Select Update & Security Settings then select Windows Update.
3. Click Check for Updates. If any are available, you will have the option to install it.

iOS Updates
1. Open the Settings app and tap General.
2. Tap Software Update.
3. If any are available, you will have the option to install it.

Android Updates (for most devices running Android 10 or higher)
1. Open the Settings app and go to the System section.
2. Tap About Phone. (If this is not an option, skip to step 3.)
3. Tap System Updates.
4. Tap Check for Update. If any are available, you will have the option to install it.

NEW! You can earn $50 reward with every application with us this AEP

With AEP fast approaching in less than 2 weeks,  here are a few exciting updates and quick tips from Devoted Health on selling with us this AEP:

  • For AEP 2022, earn a $50 reward when you help enrollees complete and submit an HRA form, this includes applications on all plans in all markets!
  • If you’re RTS with Devoted Health for PY2022, go ahead and order all of our PY22 Marketing Materials on our marketing portal, we have exciting new items that will help you sell this AEP
  • Not RTS with us yet?  Get certified with us ASAP on our Agent Portal, it’s easy! (new agents should reach out to upline agency or reply to this email if you have issues)
  • Our Agent Support team has added weekend hours during AEP to help support you.  We’ll be available 9AM – 6PM ET between October 1st – December 15th (in addition to our regular business hours are Monday – Friday 9AM – 8PM ET)

Introducing our $50 Health Risk Assessment (HRA) incentive on all plans in all markets

Our PY2022 plans include lots of great tools and services to help care for our members. To help us figure out which ones might work for new members, we’re asking you to complete a HRA form with all of your enrollees. And if you do so within 5 calendar days of submitting an enrollment application, you’ll get $50.¹

To complete HRA form:

  1. Log into Agent Portal.
  2. Click “Start Enrollment” and complete the application.
  3. Once the application is signed and submitted,  you will be prompted to “Complete the Health Risk Assessment (HRA)” form.

We recommend completing the HRA form at the same time as enrollment to ensure completion. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

HRA is only used to help match members with Devoted Health services like managing medications, controlling chronic conditions like diabetes, or getting settled at home after a hospital stay. The HRA answers don’t impact an enrollee’s premium or application processing. Devoted Health will share responses with doctors to help them offer more personalized care.  And here’s the great part, members enrolling in one of our SNP plans will receive $25 in Devoted Dollars Visa® prepaid card2 for completing the HRA and staying enrolled in our plan in January.

If an application is submitted by paper or third-party enrollment vendor, HRA will be available when Devoted Health processes the application. For agent portal submissions, HRA will be available immediately.

Log onto our Marketing Portal here to order our PY22 marketing materials, we have new and exciting items such as Medicare comparison worksheets, mail direct options, enrollment kits, plan flyers, etc. to help you sell with Devoted Health!   If you are a broker and you have completed all necessary accreditation with Devoted Health, you will be able to log into our Marketing portal using your NPN and your date of birth. You do not need to pre-register. If you are an existing agency partner, please have your identified admin login.

Cigna’s Upgraded Their Broker Portal

Cigna broker email announcement from 9/17/21:

Broker Portal Updates are Live – see how much easier it is to do business with Cigna!

What can I expect from the broker portal upgrade?

• New easy-to-use dashboard for Medicare Advantage brokers
• Includes left-hand navigation allowing brokers who sell multiple lines of business an easy way to navigate to the existing dashboards for other products with one click from the new MA dashboard
• Ability to update / edit profile information
• Access to broker tools via easy to read cards displayed on right on the dashboard.

Check it out today and see what the excitement is about!

You will notice we’ve upgraded our Broker Portal cignaforbrokers.com! We’ve introduced new functionality and have additional enhancements planned that will continue to make your experience more user friendly!

Once you login to the broker portal through CignaforBrokers.com, you’ll see the new dashboard that will serve as a one-stop-shop for the Cigna Medicare tools you use on a daily basis. Plus, for most of these tools we’ve included Single Sign On (SSO), eliminating the need to remember multiple usernames and passwords for access to the tools you needs to do your job. Some of the tools you’re likely already familiar with, others may be new to you:

  • Medicare/Medicaid Eligibility: new functionality allowing you to verify a potential customer’s eligibility information prior to enrollment right from the dashboard. For eligible customers, a quick call to CARL will provide you with their Medicaid level.
  • Salesforce: monitor sales and manage RFIs
  • Producers’ University: access to trainings, certifications and other valuable resources
  • Online Provider Directory (OLPD): our new and improved tool that allows you to search for providers based on your customer’s specific needs
  • Presentation Videos: see the latest Cigna videos to help your clients understand Medicare so that they can enroll with confidence
  • Medicare Plan Finder: find and compare Medicare health plans by linking directly to medicare.gov’s plan finder
  • ConnectureDRx: login required access to Cigna’s quote and enrollment tool for Medicare Advantage
  • e-Enrollment: login required access to Cigna’s face-to-face enrollment tool for capturing enrollment applications electronically
  • CustomPoint: login required access to order MA marketing materials, including sales kits and collateral
  • Navigation to other lines of business: If you are also licensed to sell CSB, IFP or Commercial business, you are able to navigate to those same home pages you use today direct from the MA broker portal. For example, the left navigation section allows a user to link to the CSB home page where they may access AgentView.
  • Profile: new profile feature allows you to update you contact information, password and security questions for access to the broker portal

For those tools where a login is still required, we’re working toward single-sign-on in a future release. In addition, we’re building out alerts and notification functionality allowing you to be notified of updates related to your license and appointment, upcoming sales events and training activity right from the dashboard via a bell icon at the top of the page.

For those tools where a login is still required, we’re working toward single-sign-on in an upcoming release, in advance of AEP.

We’re excited to simplify your experience and happy we were able to bring this to you in advance of AEP. Happy selling!
