Cigna Extends Deadline for Certification Reimbursement

Complete by Sept. 15 and meet sales goals for reimbursement

In July when we opened our certification for 2022 sales, we told you we’d reimburse your certification costs if you completed the certification by September 1 and met a couple of other prerequisites, like closing five sales by December 31 and remaining in good standing. Today, we are extending that deadline for certification with reimbursement until September 15!

If you need a reminder, you can review the email we sent our broker partners in early July that mentions this and directs to our Certification Roadmap to better explain. We’re just so excited about the Medicare Advantage plans we have for 2022 we want every broker partner to have the opportunity to offer them to their customers. Reset your clocks: you’ve got two more weeks to complete certification with Cigna!

We are excited to announce 2022 Wellcare Annual Certification Training is now available!

2022 Annual Certification Training Details:

  • One Combined ACT: Successful completion of ACT certifies you to market and sell all 2021 and 2022 Wellcare Medicare product offerings, for Allwell, Fidelis Care, Health Net, WellCare and Ascension Complete Health Plans.
  • Open-Book Exam: The entire training course is available for download in PDF format located in the course Resources. The document can be searched by using the ctrl-f search function.
  • Unlimited Attempts: You can take the mastery exam as many times as you would like. Remember, there is a 24 hour lockout between attempts to allow you time to study and revisit any of the training material.
  • AHIP Integration: The Centene Learning Center provides real-time AHIP to ACT training availability. Complete AHIP through our training site to access discounted pricing ($125 vs $175)


Accessing 2022 ACT:

You must reset your password for the Centene Learning Center before proceeding to AHIP and ACT (if you have not accessed the site after 5/10/2021).

It’s that time again!

The Health Plan’s (THP) 2022 Medicare Product Training will be available soon. Please watch for an email containing the training link, user ID and password.

What’s new this year?
You will see a new “step” in this year’s training – an annual HIPAA and Privacy attestation. Just like the Code of Conduct, you will review the document and click on the link as attestation.

We have removed the product benefit information from the main training slides. This information is now contained in separate benefit chart documents, displayed by state.

Once you have completed THP training and have submitted proof of successful Medicare Rules and Regulations training completion, we will send you a certification status email. This email will let you know when you are officially “Ready to Sell for 2022.”

Registering through this link will ensure that your AHIP certificate is automatically sent to The Health Plan, eliminating the need for you to forward the information.

NAHU’s 2022 Medicare Certification – Added Bonus

National Association of Health Underwriters announcement on 6/25/21:

Beginning in July, NAHU will provide Medicare specialists with a 12-month subscription of content that elevates the design and implementation of plans that coordinate well with Medicare. Each month will focus on a timely topic helping agents better understand Medicare’s future, marketing strategy, new guidance, and the nuts and bolts of day-to-day client service.

For only $100, you receive programming focused on all things Medicare, in addition to the Medicare, Medicare Advantage training. This resource is accessible through NAHU’s Online Learning Library, convenient and a good source for future reference. Each month you receive a new topic.

Medical Mutual: Preparing for the Upcoming Medicare Sales Season

As we prepare for the upcoming Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, we have two important reminders for Medicare-affiliated brokers and agencies regarding our Annual Medicare Advantage Certification and marketing materials to help grow your book of business.

Annual Medicare Advantage Certification Begins June 28, 2021
It’s time to complete your Medical Mutual Medicare Advantage certification. There are numerous changes to the certification process this year, so we encourage you to read this entire update.

2022 Training Course Requirements

You must complete AHIP certification before gaining access to the Medical Mutual certification modules, AHIP will automatically share your completion dates with Medical Mutual once you log on to your Web Courseworks account.

To access your account please follow the below:
• Log into MyBrokerLink
• Select Sales & Quoting
• Select Medicare Advantage
• Training and Certification.

Completion of the 2022 training will certify an agent for both the 2021 and 2022 plan years through a combination year certificate.

Agents will be given five attempts to reach a passing score of at least 85%. The exception to this is the Title 18 attestation module, which must be passed with a 100%.

As a reminder: Agents are given a $50 discount by accessing AHIP training through our Medical Mutual link. If you completed NAHU general compliance and FWA training, please email for assistance in accessing the certification modules.

Training Modules and Additional Resources
The Training content pdf can be downloaded from Web Courseworks upon module completion. For 2022 certification, you will not be required to complete the Sales Event module unless you are also certifying for 2021 or will be hosting local area marketing events representing Medical Mutual. As a reminder, the educational video plays at the end of the Dos & Don’ts: Formal Educational Events module. You must remain on the first slide of the video for at least one minute. We recommend watching the entire video, however you will have the option to stop the video and complete the module.
